I've been taking photos since I got my first Instamatic 110 camera back in the 1980s. In high school I shot photos for my school newspaper and spent many hours in the darkroom developing black and white film. My interest in photography has grown gradually since those early days.

As it did for so many people, the advent of digital photography was a real game changer. No longer did I have to worry about limiting myself to a small number of shots at an event. While there are some disadvantages to an essentially endless supply of digital film (like sifting through thousands of images), the advantages over classical film are plenty.
